I know that I have been delinquent in my sharing and caring, but I’m trying to do more as I bust out some of my fave 2024 Tunes.

To be honest I have been off the new music search after a very slovenly Christmas, so my ability to find all the top new hits might be a bit lacking. That being said, that doesn’t mean that I have fully slacked off on my duties.

Here are some of the songs that have made my playlist for 2024.

Right Back to It-Waxahatchee

Katie Crutchfield has been a mainstay of the Indie Music scene for over a decade now, and her lovely, warbling voice finds its home on the new track ‘Right Back to It’. With a perfect blend of alternative, country, and alt-country, Waxahatchee starts the year off right with a toe-tapping track.

Beautiful People (Stay High)-The Black Keys

Ohio’s own ‘The Black Keys’ have been thundering out amazing music since they first bust onto the scene in 2001. Their new album ‘Ohio Players’ is chalked full of pumping tracks, with Beautiful People hitting the radio release first. It’s the Black Keys at their classical best. Listen to the whole album. The video is sublime as well.

God is a Giver-Delacey and Valley Boy

American singer Delacey gets a bigger boost here with her collaboration with techno kids Valley Boy, and the result is the 2024 fun track ‘God is a Giver’.
Light, airy and full of some fun lyrics, this song is one that surprises you, and is a quick slide to a Spotify playlist.

Nothing to Declare-MGMT

MGMT have been an indie band for ages, putting out melodic as well as techno hits spanning the past two decades. ‘Nothing to Declare’ is a bit of a departure from the band soundwise, but the video of a girl with no arms totally makes it. It’s a fascinating and fun song, made even better by the video. Make sure you check out many of their other hits as well.

Shake it Out-Manchester Orchestra

Yes, this song is an old Taylor Swift cover, but the band has finally decided to provide us with a live, video of the song. As many of you know, I am a massive Manchester Orchestra fan, so anything that gets re-released I am all over like the Covid virus. If you’re not a fan of the band already, get in.

Football-Youth Lagoon

Youth Lagoon is driven by the vocals of the unique Trevor Powers, who took some time off from the band for some other projects. Trevor got the band back together in 2022, and was able to take sessions to studio, with this fun new 2024 track. Worth checking out some other Youth Lagoon titles if you have never heard of them before.
